Ashlee James - Too Hot to Stop

“I get a ton of emails -- so many that I get overwhelmed going back and forth,” she said. “Some guys write in almost like I am some untouchable being. While that is flattering, it also makes me feel guilty. Men put models on some pedestal that is unattainable. I am just a normal girl and if any of these guys who wrote to me live in the state of Arizona, they could catch me out at Albertson’s in the middle of the day. They would find me with no makeup on, hair pulled up, sweaty from the gym. This happens to be what I do for a living.”
A lot of men would still hit on her, sans makeup, when they caught sight of her 36DD-26-36 figure in the fruits and vegetables aisle. A native of Detroit, this daughter of attractive Scottish parents first moved to Arizona at the age of 15. She moved to Miami but found the South Beach scene a bit fast for her, so she returned to Arizona.

Ezsportsonline: Your thoughts on winning the contest and having so many fans?
Ashlee: This is actually the only Internet modeling contest like this I’ve ever done. I was really surprised because I entered it on a whim. I was home recovering from surgery, I had nothing better to do, and I kept hearing about Xposed.com. I just uploaded my most recent pictures that had just been taken a few weeks prior. When I discovered the blogs is when I started to get really popular.
Ezsportsonline: I recall. You sort of took a commanding presence there.
Ashlee: I would just write about things in my everyday life that I either got kind of pissed off about or I found humorous. I would write in a sarcastic manner, sort of venting, but then also making it into an entertaining little story. That’s when everybody started to catch on and then it really took off when I discovered Chelsea Riera’s page and we started playing off each other’s comments, some playful competition. The rest of the models did not have much to say. I think that’s how I rose to the top, the blogs and answering emails.
Ezsportsonline: So you had a strategy to win it?
Ashlee: Some models carry themselves like they are on some unattainable level, like they don’t give these guys the time of day. That’s inappropriate because without emailing back and forth and developing relationships, these models wouldn’t have any type of career. Let’s face it: If you are not with a major agency or get discovered overnight, you are not going to become well-known. I work hard. Every Yahoo member I get, I work to keep them there, answering emails and letting them know where they can see me. Believe it or not, I would like every Savvy member to know that every email I get, I read it even if I can’t respond in a timely manner. Every compliment means the world to me and I do enjoy hearing feedback.
Ezsportsonline: Are you still getting penis pictures in your email? That’s our most-read blog still.
Ashlee: (Laughs) I was actually not sent any penis pictures whatsoever. I have a friend who was sent one penis picture. I was just bored and created a story about it because I thought it was funny. I did not say that people had sent me pictures.
Ezsportsonline: I got that impression. It sounded like you had a flood of them.
Ashlee: I know that other models receive pictures of men’s genitals or sex acts or just really lewd things. It was more of a sarcastic thing, which I did admit to in my Yahoo group. Also, I wanted to see how people would react to my using the word “penis” because every time I use that word, people are always either cracking up or they’re shocked.

Mayra: I was born in Cuba, but migrated to Miami with my mother. My father eventually reached the states. I’ve lived in Miami, NY, Vegas and now LA. I spend most of my time between L.A. and Miami where I am recording on my first record with Kike Santander and Roy Tavares. I’m also completing a feature film out in London called “Stagknight” where I have the principal role. The British press has been a bit overwhelming wanting to know about me.
ezsportsonline: They can wait until we’re done with you. What's the best thing about Miami and L.A.? Why should Savvy readers visit there?
Mayra: The weather for one... and the fact that both places have the best of everything you may ever want.

Mayra: I measure at 36C-23-36
ezsportsonline: I understand getting voluptuous sort of ended your aspirations of becoming a professional ballerina.
Mayra: Yes.

I figured she would be hot, but when I met up with this week’s model, Ursula Mayes, to do an interview and saw her face for the first time, I realized this was no ordinary beauty.
I fully expected some flaw to rise to the surface, some trace of the ordinary or the neurotic, but instead, I discovered she’s just as beautiful on the inside. There was no hint of being full of herself or humorless or negative about the world.
After you spend a few minutes talking to her, Ursula leaves you wishing she were your girlfriend so you could come home from work and just stare at her instead of the television. Even in her street clothes, she looked as beautiful as any bride might appear on her wedding day.

Ursula: Yes. I dumped them. I’m sure I have been cheated on at some point but never knew. I’m sure it has happened to most people. Definitely not cool and I would never want it done to me so I wouldn’t cheat on anyone else. I find that show “Cheaters” extremely funny and so dumb, not to mention ghetto. Yet I’m still compelled to watch it.

“I was born and raised here and still live in the same area I grew up in. It's very rare for people in the industry to actually grow up here. California weather really spoils you. I can't see myself living anywhere else. What else can you ask for? Beautiful weather, the beach when you want it, a desert nearby, great restaurants, entertainment, etc. I love it. If I were a guy, a top reason to visit California would be for the beautiful women. That's just the cherry on top!”
Geography also allows Donna to capitalize on opportunities in the entertainment industry. She is now shooting episodes of a game show on NBC called “Deal or No Deal” where she is the spokes model and co-host. Look out Vanna!
Some might recognize Donna from international TV commercials or videos for Justin Timberlake and Sugar Ray. She also just completed shooting a music video as the lead girl in a Dwight Yoakam video, recently shot for the retailer Rampage clothing, did a Movietickets.com commercial spot, and is set to do a multiple-page page feature in Maxim's Belgium edition. Her acting career is taking off as well. Donna has appeared on “The Young and The Restless” and “The Bold and The Beautiful”. Producers are tossing scripts at her, hoping she’ll take a bite at their movie projects.

Donna: I have casually dated tall or even very tall men, but for some reason, almost every boyfriend I've had has been a couple inches shorter than me. I've noticed that most short men have a thing for tall women. What do you think? Why is that?
Ezsportsonline: Um… Maybe because their eyes come up to your chest level? I don’t know. What do you wear when you want to feel sexy?

Donna: The typical guy I'm really attracted to is not always the guy that I have a relationship with. I look for much more than looks in a relationship. Of course, I like a guy that dresses well, has a nice smile, etc., but I love a guy that is honest, appreciative, supportive of me and my career, and knows how to make me laugh.

Donna: The best way is to treat me like a buddy. Born in Spokane, Wash., Shannon moved with her mom to Guam. In her mid-teen years, she migrated to North Carolina, finding it quite an adjustment to live with her father, who served in the Air Force.
"In Guam, I spent most of my younger days soaking up the sun and enjoying the island life. In North Carolina, they have four seasons and their grocery stores were named Piggly Wiggly!" she recalled.
It was an admittedly difficult childhood for Shannon, who was picked on because she was different and awkward.
"I used to be the girl who got picked on, couldn't get a date, didn't go to my proms and never made the cheerleading squad. All I have to say is, thank goodness for graduation! Hell had ended, finally!"
She recently had a chance to attend a high school reunion, presenting the ultimate opportunity to gloat.
"A friend of mine said I should go but what's the point? Actually, a guy I went to high school with ended up working at Worldcom with me. He told me I was beautiful. I said, 'Hey, now. You used to pick on me!' He said, 'No offense, Shannon, but you were homely back then.'"

The program airs Wednesdays and covers 150 million households per week. After hosting several "All Strength Challenge" series' for three years on the Outdoor Life Network Canada. Tami brings U.S. viewers strength challenge competitions from all over the U.S. and around the world.
