Breeder's cup weekend

Yup, its that time of the year one again. Here is what happened last year : After delaying the start by refusing to load into the gate, Flaxman Holdings homebred Six Perfections more than made up for it by storming to the front around the far turn and rolled to victory in the NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT).

Favorite Peace Rules assumed the early lead as the field raced down the stretch for the first time. Tracked by Designed for Luck, Peace Rules sizzled through opening fractions of :22 1/5 and :45 2/5 for the opening half-mile. The lead remained unchanged down the backstretch, with Designed for Luck and Soaring Free continuing to stalk Peace Rulse as they got the three-quarters of a mile in 1:09 4/5.

The rest of the field began to catch the leaders rounding the second turn, with Six Perfections and jockey Jerry Bailey taking the lead while holding off Touch of the Blues. Century City was third. The final time for 1 mile on turf was 1:33 4/5. Six Perfections paid $12.60, $7.00, and $4.80. Touch of the Blues was worth $9.80 and $6.80, with Century City paying $15.60 to show. The victory was the second in a row for trainer Pascal Bary, who won the Mile last year with Domedriver.

Six Perfections is a 3-year-old daughter of Celtic Swing -- Yogya (by Riverman). The French-bred Six Perfections has now won six of 10 lifetime starts, including two group I races in France.

Cards hope it's better at Busch

Game 3 of the world series, and it's definitly a decisive one for the Cards. The Cardinals are 6-0 at home in the 2004 postseason. Unfortunately for their current circumstances, they are 1-6 on the road, the last two road losses leaving them 0-2 in the World Series.

If they loose game 3 it would be very unlickely that they would be able to come back 0-3... but then again it did happend... once!

GUY GOLFING WITH NUN

A guy gets paired at the local golf course with a nun and they are making their way around the course when they finally arrive at the fifth tee; a long par four with a dog leg to the left. The guy drives off the tee and his ball hooks sharply into a thick rough near some woods. "Shit," he yells, "that really pisses me off, dammit!" The nun can't help but overhear him cussing out loud and she tells the man that he shouldn't be swearing like that and proceeds to scold him about his language. Then the nun tees off and slices her ball into the woods where it hits a large oak tree, bounces back and lands almost back at the tee box. She starts swearing up a storm, using every bad word in the book. Her golf partner approaches her and says, "how come you are saying all of those nasty words when you told me God didn't like my using them?"
"Well," replied the nun, "at least your ball didn't hit those fuckin' trees."

The "other" MLB series

While everyone is currently trying to get over the fact that the Red Sox actually won the series, please note that over in "the other series" the Cardinals and the Astros meet in Game 7 of the NLCS tonight (8 PM ET, FOX) in St. Louis.

Clemens steps into another Game 7 spotlight. For the third time in four seasons, Clemens will be on the mound for a decisive Game 7.

If Clemens can get the Astros past the Cardinals, he'll have a chance to go up against his former team, the Boston Red Sox, in the World Series, which begins Saturday Fenway Park.

Astros or Cards? Bet on it!

Historic win for the red sox

After trailing by 0-3 the Red Sox did the unthinkable : they won 4 matches in a row to defeat the world's best paid baseball team the New York Yankees.

Lets bet Mark Bellhorn, and Derek Lowe are likely still celebrating today with the rest of the Red Sox.

The classic to end all classics Red Sox VS Yankees Game 7

While it took BLOOD AND GUTS to get them there, Curt Schilling certainly pitched a heck of a game on game 6 with is ankle sutured skin stitched between tendons

"His heart is so big... he competed and he pitched his ass off." Terry Francona
"20 years from now they'll be saying Willis Reed pulled a Curt Schilling." Theo Epstein

Read more about this here

Tonight the Red Sox have a chance to further re-write the record books. These are unprecedented moments in Red Sox history and there is alot of pressure on both teams.

First on the Red Sox for coming back after trailing 0-3 in the series, but also on the Yankees who would become the first team in the World Series to loose after a 3-0 lead. Definitly not a good entry in the record books!
